Order data — items, notes to your shopper, time of delivery.
Payment data — handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor; we never see your full card number.
Device data — IP, browser, and basic usage telemetry to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it
To process and deliver your orders, match you with a local shopper, handle refunds and substitutions, send service emails about your order, and improve the product. Marketing emails are opt-in and you can unsubscribe at any time from any email.
Lawful basis
Contract (delivering the service you asked for), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, service improvement) and consent (marketing). We rely on consent for cookies that aren't strictly necessary.
How long we keep it
Order data for 7 years (HMRC requirement). Account data until you ask us to close your account, then up to 90 days in backups before final deletion.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or port your data, or object to processing. Email privacy@localbasket.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
